Synergy is derived from a Greek work syn-ergos, which means 'working together' and can be defined as when two or more people or things function together to produce a result that could not be achieved independently.
When a group is working at its full capacity, it is their ability to work together to go beyond what even the best individual would be able to achieve. The group, in essence is trying to fulfill a need of knowledge on a subject matter.
For a group to be totally successful 'group cohesion' needs to occur. As this cohesion heightens, positive aspects come of it, communication and interaction are at its peak, common goals are reached and friendships and support are reached thus allowing them to work in harmony. [1]
